PREVIEW OF ALL THINGS COMING TO POKÉMON GO

"Since we began our journey together over four years ago, Pokémon GO has evolved in so many ways. From the addition of battles—Raid Battles, Trainer Battles, and Team GO Rocket battles—to the discovery of over 600 different Pokémon that can be encountered in the game, the world of Pokémon GO has continued to change and expand in exciting, new ways. The week of Monday, November 30, 2020, Pokémon GO will GO Beyond. We’ll be making big changes to how trainers can level up and implementing Seasons, a new way to experience in-game events. Not only that, but Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region will be coming to Pokémon GO!"

Level-up redesign coming soon; level cap increased to 50!

"For the first time since the game’s launch, leveling up in Pokémon GO is getting rebalanced. There have been many features added and changes made to the game over the years, and we’ve revisited them to make leveling more fun than ever. Trainers who have reached level 40 will soon have the opportunity to level up to level 50! Be one of the first to earn bragging rights as a level 50 Trainer—that is, if you’re up for the challenge. For players who haven’t reached level 40 yet, you’ll find leveling up easier than ever before with adjustments to the various ways you can earn XP!"

Experience Pokémon GO in a new way with Seasons

"We’ve learned a lot from running both live and in-game events in Pokémon GO these past few years. We’re excited to put all we’ve learned to work in a brand-new way of experiencing in-game Pokémon GO events: Seasons."

Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region are coming

"So far in Pokémon GO, we’ve encountered Pokémon originally discovered in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Galar. Starting Wednesday, December 2, 2020, we’ll be meeting Pokémon first discovered in the region where dreams and adventures begin—Kalos! With the recent arrival of Mega Evolution to Pokémon GO, it feels timely that Pokémon originally discovered in Kalos—the region where Mega Evolution was first discovered—will be making their debut."

12 Days of Friendship event

"To prepare for these exciting developments, there will be a series of exciting bonuses available TODAY as Pokémon GO kicks off the 12 Days of Friendship event! After the GO Beyond update goes live, there’ll also be lots to do in December to help you take advantage of all the changes, such as December Community Day and fun holiday events!

Since 2016, a lot has changed, both in the real world and in Pokémon GO. What hasn’t changed, however, is the fact that we have each other and our Pokémon. As Pokémon GO has grown, so have we—as trainers, as a community, and as people. The game has grown beyond our wildest imaginations, and we’re thrilled to see it continue strong four years later. It wouldn’t have been possible without all of you.  Now it’s time to GO Beyond—together!

Please be aware of your surroundings and follow guidelines from local health authorities when playing Pokémon GO. Upcoming events are subject to change."

TRAINER (AND POKEMON) LEVEL 50

Starting on November 30, there will be an XP rebalancing with Evolutions, Hatches, Dex Entries & more gaining up to twice as much XP so that reaching the old cap of Level 40 a little easier. Pokémon & Trainer Levels will soon be expanded to Level 50 starting with a test for select trainers in Australia.

There will be a double Catch XP event from November 18 - December 31. Trainers who reach Level 40 by the end of this event will earn Special Research that will award a Legacy 40 Badge & Gyarados Cap.

Powering a Pokémon’s CP past the old limit will require XL Candy! XL Candy can be acquired by catching Pokémon or by converting and combining already existing candy, more details will be released soon. All trainers who are at least Level 40 will be able to power up a Pokémon to their new max of 40 no matter their Trainer Level.

The expanded Trainer & Pokémon Level tests will be rolled out soon to select trainers in Australia for surveyed feedback. During the test period any Pokémon powered up past Level 40 will be ineligible for GO Battle League’s Master League format to maintain fair competition. They will, however, still be able to be used in Gyms & Raids.

How will this affect GBL & PVP IV Rankings?

Pokemon like Bastiodon, Azumarill, Medicham & Sableye will have new Rank 1 IVs for Great League. In Ultra League there will be a lot of new players like Abomasnow and Masters may be a whole new beast entirely… oh and if little cup returns... get ready for a bulkier Bronzor. We are able to project Rankings up to Level 50 at this time. Please note that these values are subject to change and are only an estimation using the current CP Calulations. The projected rankings are now live on our Rank Checker.
